Hi there. I'm James, and this is my HMD post for Henrietta Biggle here from South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Tell me how you think I'm driving the kid here. Along with that, this post serves double duty.

This post is to tell me if you'd like to opt out of interactions with Henrietta. South Park as a canon is notorious for problematic content, and while Henrietta and the goth kids miss most of this due to (usually) being such bit players, it is inherently a part of the canon. Said problematic language will not be utilized in play, but even then its understandable that people might be uncomfortable with the canon as a whole and prefer not to have interactions with characters from South Park. For her part, the biggest warnings for Henrietta as a character is that she's misanthropic and antisocial, as well as foul mouthed just like any of the other South Park characters. If you'd like to limit, or avoid, contact with Henrietta, please let me know here.

Character Name: Henrietta Biggle
Age: 10
Canon: South Park/South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Canon Point: After the "From Dusk To Casa Bonita" storyline of South Park: The Fractured But Whole

History:
Henrietta has a small background role throughout South Park proper, though she plays a slightly more significant role in the video game, Fractured But Whole. Very little is known about Henrietta and her life proper, aside from the fact that she lives with her mother and father - who she despises - and her adopted brother Bradley, who turned out to be an alien superhero who returned to his own home planet. South Park is a bizarre and weird place.

Little is known about Henrietta's home life proper or how she came to be a goth. Much of what Henrietta says about her home seems like it's exaggeration or unreliable. She often paints her parents in a negative and harsh light, but everything they show and how they themselves react to her seems to undermine this. Despite how rude and hostile Henrietta tends to be towards her mother, her mother frequently soaks up the abuse Henrietta verbally throws at her in order to try and be encouraging towards her daughter. While Henrietta's father is shown to be more strict with his daughter than her mother is, there's still no evidence of him being as bad as Henrietta claims. It's unknown as to why or how Henrietta has ended up a goth, but it's as a goth we meet her.

When we're first introduced to Henrietta it's alongside the rest of the goth clique that she's a part of. Stan Marsh, one of the main character's of the series, had just gone through a break up with his girlfriend and wanted to join the goths and learn how to be goth because, like them, he had given up on life. Henrietta and the rest of the goths proceed to teach Stan how to become a goth - writing goth poetry, wearing the right types of clothes, drinking coffee into all hours of the night, and generally being a non-conformist. Unfortunately, clearly, despite the Goth kids incredible instruction, Stan ultimately decides to return to his normal life, cutting the goth clique back down to its normal size.

The goths, including Henrietta, have a few minor appearances before their next major episode. These sequences include participating in the school talent show, although with a song entirely derogatory to the spirit of the talent show and watching the brutal fight between Eric Cartman and Wendy Testaburger where Wendy whipped Cartman's ass. The next time the goths have an episode dedicated to them, its in regards to the fact that a new clique has begun to spring up at school - the vampire kids, who are a bunch of kids that appear to pretend to be vampires mostly of the Twilight persuasion. Henrietta and the goths view the vampire kids as posers, and become especially angry that their own clique is viewed as being the same as the vampires. As more and more kids begin to become part of the vampire clique, the goths begin to ponder a way to stop their numbers from growing and thus from overtaking the goth's position and style. Henrietta suggests that they look at the main way that vampires are stopped in most vampire stories: you get rid of the head vampire.

This leads the goth kids to abducting and messing with the leader of the vampire's clique, Mike Makowski. Taking the time to first scare the shit out of Mike, the goths end up choosing to mail Mike to Scottsdale instead in order to get rid of him. Unfortunately, this tactic doesn't work, and the goths begin to regret the fact that the town will soon be swamped with lame vampire kids. However, they end up being approached by Butters, a kid who had become a part of the vampire clique and regretted it, thinking he had become a real vampire. Wanting to end it, Butters leads the goth kids to the vampire's lair in order to destroy it: a Hot Topic. Getting to business upon seeing it, the goth kids proceed to burn the Hot Topic down. This ends up stopping the growing number of vampire kids, allowing the goths to return to their position as the most gothic clique in school.

The next time the goth kids appear, they show up as members of the cult of the elder god, Cthulhu. With Cthulhu having been awakened by an oil drill spill, Henrietta and the other goth kids join the cult under the belief that Cthulhu will stomp and crush all the conformists that they hate so much. They're seen attending a cult meeting and, while heading back home from the meeting, are confronted by Kenny under his super hero guise Mysterion. The goths explain how they believe and hope that Cthulhu's rise means that the world will be shrouded in darkness, just as they perceive their own lives. Upon being ordered by older members of the cult to get rid of Kenny, Henrietta joins the goth kids in trying to kill him. Their attempt is interrupted by Kenny's friends showing up, leading the cult leaders to kill Kenny themselves. Along with the other goth kids, Henrietta does not appear to be particularly bothered by seeing Kenny die.

As Cthulhu's rampage goes on and it becomes clear nothing is going to really change considering Cthulhu has started working with Eric Cartman and doing his dirty work, Henrietta and the goth kids decide to resign their loyalty to the elder god, disappointed that he didn't really issue in an age of darkness where all the conformists would be crushed or, at the very least, they wouldn't have to go to school. When Kenny seeks out the goth kids as Mysterion to learn how to fight Cthulhu, the goth kids decide to educate him about the elder god. Henrietta specifically mentions, and appears to possess, a copy of the Necronomicon, teaching Kenny about Cthulhu's history and helping him to figure out it would take an immortal in order to kill an immortal. Their talk is interrupted by Henrietta's mom and adopted brother, Bradley, who Henrietta screams at to need to get out, showing she has as bad a relationship with her brother as she does with her parents. Later, her brother Bradley returns home after discovering his true backstory as an alien superhero who, after sealing Cthulhu away, comes back to flip Henrietta off before leaving for his home in the stars.

The next time Henrietta and the goths show up is one of their largest appearances, and the one that does the most to differentiate and establish them as specific characters. Due to her behavior, Henrietta's parents send her off to a camp meant to help children and teens with behavioral problems. Once there, Henrietta is locked into a room and left with a house plant that begins to shake. Upon returning from the camp two weeks later, Henrietta returns not as a goth, but as an emo, yet another faction that the goths have made enemies due to them being posers. Henrietta separates herself from her goth friends Michael, Pete, and Firkle, instead hanging with the emo kids. When Michael later goes to confront Henrietta on the fact that she's changed and that he thinks that camp may have intentionally turned her into an emo, Henrietta - under the belief that she was being controlled by a parasite that had come from the plant she was left with - responds that the goths have no chance of defeating or stopping the coming wave of emos, voice fluctuating that Michael should join her in becoming an emo instead of remaining a goth, causing Michael to flee.

Henrietta spends the rest of the episode hanging out and siding with the emos. In general, this isn't too much different from when she had been a goth, aside that from talking about how much the world sucks, she and her friends talk about how much they suck. Near the end of the episode, Michael and Pete come back to tell Henrietta what they had found out about the camp she had went to: the entire thing was a joke for a television program. She had not been possessed in any way. Surprised and desperate, Henrietta argues she must have been changed by it, with Pete informing her that no, she had done that to herself, causing Henrietta to turn away in shame and embarrassment. In order to help her, Pete then says that there in fact had been plants there controlling kids and they had stopped the leader of them, allowing Henrietta to say/pretend her parasite was gone and that she was once more a goth.

Henrietta and the goth kids next substantial appearance is in the video game The Fractured But Whole. While they have a minor role in the game proper, Henrietta has a much larger role in a DLC mission that makes her a player character. In it the New Kid (the player character of the game) and Kenny go to Casa Bonita to save Kenny's little sister, Karen, who has become a member of the vampire clique and is attending Mike Makowski's birthday party there. While there, the two run into Cartman, who also helps them, and Henrietta, who is at dinner with her parents and trying to ignore everything there. However, when the kids start a fight with the vampire clique, one of the members of the vampires asks why Henrietta isn't fighting, confusing her as a member of the clique. Angered, Henrietta joins the fight by helping the New Kid, Cartman, and Kenny beat up the vampire kids.

Henrietta then proceeds to aid the New Kid and Kenny in trying to get Karen back, mostly due to her hatred of the vampire clique kids. She takes part in helping fight the vampire kids off, as well as helping fight off the spirit of Corey Haim once he's summoned by the Master Vampire, or Mike Makowski's dad. Throughout most of the event she appears genuine in her decision to help kick the shit out of the vamp kids and get Karen back, mostly hanging around Kenny under his Mysterion alter ego due to the fact that he seems pretty goth. Upon defeating Corey Haim and saving Karen, Karen admits she was hanging with the vampire kids because despite them being massively lame fucks, she had been feeling neglected with how little time Kenny was spending with her, something Kenny goes on to fix. Karen also takes an interest in being goth due to Henrietta, something that Henrietta actually encourages and proceeds to hang around Karen a little bit after saving her, teaching her to be goth.

Personality:
Henrietta's early appearance and personality is indistinct from the other goth kids, as the goth kids are portrayed as being predominantly insular and similar in interests, beliefs, and tastes, with only their leader Michael occasionally showing autonomy early on. While the goth kids have gone on to develop more distinct personalities, it is important to show how they're similar since it formed the backbone for who they'd become. Like all the other goths, Henrietta tends to be withdrawn from the rest of the kids, sticking specifically to her group. She is moody, aggressive when challenged by authority figures, and quick to defend her individuality, or rather the individuality of the goths when compared to emos and vampires, who are posers and just as much conformist as everyone else. It should be noted that its debatable if Henrietta and the goth kids actually understand what the word "conformist" means, as she and the others treat it as an insult to apply to anything they don't like and that they don't view as goth.

The goth kids tend to be dismissive of authority figures, often making themselves nuisances because they hang around and block areas. They tend to stay out late drinking coffee and writing poetry at a little diner called The Village Inn, annoying the shit out of the serving lady who tends to end up serving them there. This disrespect for authority extends to their parents, especially in Henrietta's case. Henrietta is not just disrespectful towards her parents, but outright hostile, especially towards her mother. For her part, Henrietta's mother appears to attempt to be encouraging and loving towards her daughter despite the barrage of verbal abuse Henrietta tends to fling out at her mother. While Henrietta's parents can be strict, they're also shown as loving, and probably some of the better parents in South Park. Henrietta, meanwhile, claims that her parents are negligent and abusive of her. It is uncertain if she truly perceives this or if she claims this because it's inherently meant to be part of her 'character' as being a goth, in that some episodes, especially Goth Kids 3, shows that Henrietta is at least partially aware that she is playing a character and playing to a stereotype, as can be seen by how she goes along with thinking she's been brainwashed to be emo, and then shakes that off when Pete provides her an out in order to do so and go back to being goth. It's also possible that Henrietta believes her mother's encouragement to actually be some kind of veiled guilt tactics, which could mean that Henrietta views her mother's encouragement as abuse because Henrietta possesses a very poor view of herself and is lacking in self-esteem.

As the goths gained more distinct personality, they also took on the idea of being troped into the idea of the gang of four that tends to run in South Park, with many 'groups' being separated into groups of four characters that can mirror the main four of South Park proper: Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny. As Michael and Pete are the clear 'Stan' and 'Kyle', it could be tempting to consider Henrietta the 'Cartman' of the group, especially since she fits the body type, as well as the fact that she can be the most mouthy and insulting when enraged, as well as the one of them to most easily get angry and vulgar, especially towards her parents. However, the youngest goth Firkle seems to be a better fit for the "Cartman", in part because he's been shown to be more willing to be violent and aggressive than the others as well as outright treacherous when it benefits him. In an odd way, Henrietta could be the "Kenny" of their group, both in that while she isn't one of the main two (Michael and Pete), she's closer to them than Firkle is, as well as the fact that she's the member of the group less likely to speak. Whereas this seems to be because of how much more passive Kenny is and how much more likely he is to be content with things than the other kids, Henrietta simply doesn't like or enjoy speaking. Most times when she speaks she keeps to short sentences and statements unless it's a topic that interests her and she knows, or she's shouting out abuse towards her parents or other figures of authority. It's also worth noting that she seems to be the most poetic of the goths. While all the goths write poetry, she seems to be the one who writes it the most, or at least takes it the most seriously.

While all the goths have some form of interest in the occult, Henrietta appears to be the one to have the greatest amount of interest in the occult. When the goth kids are talking about how to stop and get rid of the vamp kids, it's Henrietta who suggests how you turn vampires back by getting rid of the head vampire, and it's later Henrietta who seems to own a copy of the Necronomicon and who seems to best know the history of Cthulhu and the elder gods. Along with this, she reacts with interest and (by her standards) excitement at getting to see Shub-Nigguroth in Fractured But Whole. Alongside this is the fact that Henrietta claims to be a Satanist in Fractured But Whole, and her powers seem to be based around this and the fact that he 'class' in the game is classified as "Goth Witch".

Henrietta also appears to be the member of the group that most ties her identity to being goth, or at least being part of a clique. She's willing to believe she was truly brainwashed into becoming an emo in Goth Kids 3 because while she was being changed, she was still part of a clique that could define her. When Pete and Michael inform her that no brainwashing had taken place she seems genuinely horrified and embarrassed at herself for being willing to so go along with it. This implies that at least to some degree Henrietta's choice to be goth really is specifically to try and carve some idea of identity out and to use that identity as a crutch, which could again attest to a low self-esteem and the possibility that she's embarrassed at who she is without having the definer of 'goth' attached to it. She's quick to take the 'out' Pete gives her a moment later that lets her pretend that, yes, she really was brainwashed and now was cured and can go back to calling herself Goth without problem.

Her appearance in South Park: Fractured But Whole does the most in defining her as an individual. While Henrietta continues to show the traits that the goths have as a whole throughout the game - snide, snarky, dismissive towards authority and valuing 'darkness' - the game also ends up making her seem, paradoxically, like one of the more individualistic of the group despite her strong ties to claiming goth. While she helps the kids fight the vamp kids because of the goths specific animosity towards the vamps, Henrietta also continues to play/join the other kids in their fights and mission afterwards. This is interesting because it would imply that she's the most autonomous and likely to take part in activities outside her specific circle, something only Michael had done previously. With the vamp kids beaten and Mike's birthday party ruined, Henrietta had no real reason to keep going, but apparently chose to continue with it. This implies that Henrietta at some part actually enjoys playing with/hanging with the other kids, as well as the fact that Henrietta is, to some degree, naturally aware that everything she's doing is some weird form of roleplay anyway despite how quick she is to call her goth affiliation sincere.

The game is also interesting in that it shows Henrietta's views and interactions with kids outside the goth clique. While she continues to be mostly short spoken and snarky, she also takes an oddly complimentary and at times friendly tone with the other kids, even if it's at times vulgar and backhanded, which compliments her predominant role as a buffer and healer. Of the kids, the ones she likes the most seem to be Wendy, Craig, and Kenny. While she views Wendy as a poser cheerleader, she's also shown as liking and complimenting Wendy's ability to manipulate people on social media for some of her attacks, referring to her as "my kind of bitch" due to it and that she's alright. Henrietta also states approval and enjoyment in Craig's cynical view of things and the fact that he so easily acts on his hatred and anger. She seems to get along, and like, Kenny the best. Thanks to the spooky nature of Kenny's powers, she can relate to him with how goth they seem and seems to generally be impressed and 'scared' by him, which she counts as a good thing. She also tends to stick close to Kenny during the Casa Bonita event, apparently helping him investigate trying to get to and find Karen while the New Kid does his own investigation and Cartman fucks around and lets everyone else do work. In a weird way its conceivable some of Henriette's comments towards Kenny could in fact be flirting, as she goes so far as to call Mysterion a tease due to his Dark Whisper power, but it's hard to say for sure.

Henrietta also shows a weird degree of empathy in Fractured But Whole that she hadn't displayed previously. She seems to particularly empathetic to Butters and Kenny's little sister, Karen. Henrietta appears to be aware of the shit Butters goes through with his parents like most of the other kids, but unlike the other kids seems to surprisingly tend not to give him too much shit but rather genuinely pities him. For instance, she mentions how its shitty when any enemies target Butters, mentioning that he gets enough shit at home from his parents. It's possible that due to her own (admittedly faulty) view that her parents are abusive towards her, she feels defensive or some kind of connection to Butters because of his own shitty home situation, which leads her to be less dismissive and insulting towards Butters and more willing to empathize. She also seems to be touched and empathetic when, after being saved from the vamp kids, Karen mentions her feelings of loneliness due to Kenny not paying as much attention to her recently. Henrietta responds to this by mentioning how Karen could make a decent goth, and begins teaching Karen how to be goth, much to Kenny's chagrin (although Kenny does admit it's at least better than being a vamp kid). This seems to point back to Henrietta's own feelings of low self-esteem and loneliness and shows that she can connect to Karen over that, and is done so to try and help Karen with her own due to Henrietta's own understanding of those feelings. Henrietta is not friendly, perhaps, but she's given enough characterization to make her feel more like an individual and child-like character, including the weird empathy that can come with that.

That's not to say she gives that leeway to everyone. She's still dismissive of any opponents they come across, especially vamp kids and Raisins girls, who she calls out as being cheap Barbies and seems to take great pleasure in fighting. She's also neutral towards Stan and Kyle, viewing Stan's power tool powers as incredibly conformist and lame and seeming to view Kyle as just lame in general. She seems to be particularly negative towards Tweek and Cartman. It's hard to say what she might have against Tweek, but the only line she has where she addresses Tweek directly as a person and not his attacks or actions has her calling him a bitch, which would imply that she views Tweek in low regard. Like just about every other kid in South Park, Henrietta appears to dislike, and in many ways outright hate, Eric Cartman. She takes every moment she gets to insult or snipe at Cartman, including calling him a dog or a rat specifically to anger him, and Cartman in turn takes every chance he gets to call her a bitch. Henrietta falls into the camp of kids then who genuinely don't just refuse to take Cartman's shit but who will also willingly fight back, like Wendy and occasionally Kyle. It's likely she does this both because Cartman is a poser and a sell out, as well as the fact that Cartman tries to be so demanding and controlling that she seems him like an authority figure and thus treats him with the same disrespect for it.

Powers/Abilities: ]
Here's where shit gets exceptionally weird.

Crazy crap is part and parcel of living in South Park. Weird things happen to the kids, and at times because of this the kids themselves seem to be able to perform weird shit that has no precedent but just happens then leaves, especially in early seasons. The kids themselves rarely seem to have 'powers' or be able to affect anything on their own so much as they get swept into crazy shit that does have this effects.

However, Fractured But Whole seems to turn this on its head. While the previous game, The Stick of Truth, seemed to show the kids "powers" as specifically and definitely being part of their game and thus their imagination, there are moments of Fractured But Whole that make no sense unless the kids powers in that game ARE real. Adults will even openly and unironically comment on the kids powers, seeming to give legitimacy to them actually being real and that the kids are, somehow, genuinely using super powers. While it seems to be difficult to say this is true of the series as a whole, as far as Fractured But Whole seems to be concerned, this powers are in fact concrete and something the kids can do. How this is, who the hell knows, but its just what we run with.

Henrietta's power set, such as it is in the game, is listed below. Her powerset is copied from the wiki's description of her powers.

Cigarette Burn - Damage and burns conformists
Range: 3 enemies tiles in horizontal line in front of her
Damage: Moderate
Status Effect: Burning

Satanic Seal - Give Attack Up, Protection, and Cleanse
Range: Any tile in the entire battle field
Damage: None
Status Effect: Player, ally, or herself gain Attack Up, Protection, and removing all the negative Status Effect

Baleful Blessing - Heal target and grant Lifesteal
Range: Any tile in the entire battle field
Damage: None
Status Effect: Heals player, ally, or herself, and gain Baleful Blessing
Other: Baleful Blessing used as a Lifesteal from enemies target to player, ally, or herself as they stand in 8 tiles surrounding position after each turn

Black Mass - Ultimate - Damage all enemies and heal allies
Range: The entire battle field
Damage: Moderate to high
Status Effect: Lifesteal (stealing health) from all enemies to all allies, player, and herself

As seen, Henrietta's powers are based mostly on 'occult magic', where she uses her cigarette and cigarette holder functionally as a wand, which she uses to deal some fire damage to enemies or to buff and heal her allies. Her 'ultimate' ability involves her summoning Satan to steal the souls of her enemies, damaging them and healing her and her allies.

Suitable Jobs:
In general, Henrietta is not going to be happy about being told to get a job. It's conformist bullshit for one, and for another she's a kid so why the fuck is she getting a job? While she's likely to rebel at first to this idea, she's going to get a job, although very begrudgingly. Job wise, the ones she's be most likely to accept and bitch about the least would be working one of the book or gift shops. She would also accept working one of the food areas, though she'd be amazingly shitty to the customers about it, including smoking while on the job.

Card Selection:
Gravity - Gradually sucking the life out of people is just what life itself does. Pretty goth.
Flight - Levitating and shit is pretty spooky.
Gloomy Cloud - Darkness follows every tortured soul.
Dewdrop Spiderweb - Spiders are kind of cliché, but they're decently goth.
Happy Haunting Grounds - Becoming incorporeal and haunting is maybe the most goth thing in this stupid kiddie place.
